Sitting, or even lying down is a big no, no, as this will merely give your stomach acids easier access to your esophagus, causing you greater heartburn.

If you’re going for the over-the-counter variety of relief offered, there are many to choose from. Most of these are antacids, and will counter your rising acidity levels.
